Allison, Cardenas & Nash

Bassist Ben Allison, guitarist Steve Cardenas, and saxophonist Ted Nash model their trio after Jimmy Giuffre’s drummerless units of the 1950s and 60s, incorporating elements of blues and folk while also embracing improvisation and free playing. After a quartet of albums focused on the music of American greats (Giuffre and Jim Hall, Leonard Bernstein, Carla Bley, and Herbie Nichols), they're back with a new release, Triological, featuring a program of original tunes.
